“These things shoot GREAT in ALL my ARs... with 24.5 of TAC and a 55 Hornady FMJ, I put 32 straight shots in the X-ring on a B-27 at 50 yards... prone off the mat with a shooting sling, using irons!!!”
“The Hornady 55 grainers are good bullets. I'm whacking 400 yard 10" steel with them, and doing around 2 MOA at that range, and I'm happy with that.
Plus, being boat tails, they load easily.
They are harder than milspec so I don't shoot at 100 yard steel anymore because they will leave tiny dimples in AR 500 at that range. I've read that the milspec jacket is 0.021" with a tolerance of - 0.002", versus the the jacket of Hornady’s 55 grain FMJ bullet which has a thickness of approximately 0.028”.”
“Another great bullet by Hornady shipped quickly and at a great price by Monmouth Reloading. Package was well packed. Went ole’ school and loaded once fired 5.56 brass with 23 gr IMR 3031 using COL. 2.22 to cannelure and Hornady recommended 2.20 – both without crimp. Crony averaged 3080 fps. 3031 meters great out of a Lyman Gen 6 digital scale. Will definitely buy from Monmouth Reloading in future endeavors.”
