“My favorite .45-70 plinking bullets. I've heard mixed reviews on how fast you can push these. Some say 1,700 FPS. Some say 1,950 FPS as is stated on the box. Welp, I've done the starting loads for H335 and IMR 4895 which are both roughly 1,900 FPS with no issues whatsoever. Very powerful loads with a lot of noise, flash and recoil. The recoil is a huge push, not sharp at all. I've roll crimped a few rounds and that did NOT work. I bought a factory crimping die but haven't used it yet. I actually haven't needed to crimp my loads. They cycle in my Marlin just fine. Unfortunately, I'm still load developing and waiting for warmer weather so I've only shot these at 25 yards at my indoor range. I have a scope on my Marlin 1895 and if I take my time, I can shoot a 1 inch 5-shot group no problem. Very accurate. Highly recommended. AoA also had the best pricing on these bullets. Everywhere else is selling them for $0.30-$0.50 per bullet. AoA: $0.23 per bullet. If that price never changes, I plan on buying a truckload of them.”
