“I've previously owned an M5E1 receiver and can attest to a few crucial details regarding the M5E1 design. First off, if you're using the enhanced handguards from Aero Precision, the enhanced upper is a must. Timing the barrel nut with a barrel shim set is a huge pain. With the enhanced upper, you can simply torque down the nut to the specified weight (65 ft/lbs I think) and carry on. I certainly think this is one of the better upper receivers out there, similar to the Seekins Precision or JP Enterprises at a much lower price with less frills.”
