“The brass was the uncleaned version so it is very filthy as was expected.
Have not finished the initial decapping and cleaning prior to sending through press to reload. I would recommend decapping all before sending through press, especially a progressive as many of the primers came out with difficulty. Some were crimped, as expected.
What i was not expecting was having the end of the primer pop open and leave the rest of primer in pocket. This is usually on the TSA headstamped cases.
The USA and MAXX headstamps are hanging up in decapper body and require pliers to get out. The cases appear to be thicker walled like I have found on +p cases in the past.
The USA and Norma headstamps are hardest to decap and almost feel like the decaper is going crooked or more likely the primer pocket is not exactly straight.
Have had four cases so far that appear like they went into a decapper or sizer crooked and the decapping rod slid along the outside. Have had three cases, so far, that were not reloadable for the primer partially still inside primer pocket. A reamer or pocket uniformer removes the metal left after the tab is removed.
Overall, i would purchase more of this type of brass as they are pretty much as expected. I might have to revise that if the thicker walled cases will not pass a case guage test or will not take the powder charge.”
