“This is my first AR and I have to say Stag rocks. I'm a lefty and did my 20 in the Navy always stuck with a right handed weapon. Shooting the M14 as a lefty often left me with a swollen face from the recoil kicking the side of the gun into my face. No matter how tight I cinched the straps or cradled the gun I couldn't beat physics. I've had casings fly across my face, bounce off of my forehead, or worse...the hot casing down a long-sleaved dungaree shirt. That will get your attention. (lol)
Took this weapon to the range and it was a wonderful experience. Nice balance, finish looks great, and parts cycle smoothly. I'm no weapons expert, but the gun looks and feels like quality. No sloppy, wiggly parts like some of the range weapons I was issued in the past. I had a moment while firing the first mag where I realized...no casings are flying across my sight line! Yay!!
Out of the box the gun shoots very well. The FFL business recommended and sold me a set of Magpul iron sights and they worked great. It took a few shots to settle in and adjust everything to fit me but by the second mag, I was getting a nice 1.5 inch grouping. Things can only get better as I get more comfortable with the rifle by going to the range more. Yep, beginning of an expensive relationship.
