“Whether or not the bolt is made with 9310 or 158 Carpenter steel, the DLC Toolcraft BCGs have performed flawlessly. The Diamond coating is super easy to clean and is slick even without lube but I always lube mine. Arm or Ally has some great prices on Toolcraft.”
“No words can describe how awesome this BCG is. It's honestly so slick, one could argue it's like a bar of soap. In regards to the coating, I'm a machinist that works with cuttings tools all the time, and a lot of the coatings that are on the tools are used for heat, friction, and wear resistance. I think it is absolutely genius to apply those same coatings on firearms. Because those same reasons cutting tools have those coatings are the same as firearms in a way. The description for this BCG says you can wipe off carbon buildup due to the DLC. They are 100% telling the truth. I've shot 200 rounds in about 20-30 minutes. Got the rifle pretty hot and dirty. Brought it home and started cleaning the BCG. Literally just wiping it with a rag to clean it is all you need. I do fully strip it and clean the bolt too. The ONLY part with carbon tries to stick is right behind the piston rings where all the heat and carbon go. A squirt of your favorite solvent and a quick scrub with a bronze brush takes it right off. Incredible. Regular phosphate bolts would take full blown scraping in some instances to remove the carbon. Now, 200 rounds is nothing. I definitely want to run my rifle harder and hotter to give this BCG a true test. The BCG is at the heart of my battle rifle. I built my rifle so it can take the worst of the worst beatings and run forever. We'll see how it goes.”
