“I have a job that gets me out and about long before the sparrows wake up and will frequently have me out and doing into the evening. Coming home on a particularly cold evening, chilled to the bone, I decided I needed a warmer jacket. Trawling through the Army and Outdoor catalogue, I came across the Czech M85 Jacket. Knowing that Czechoslovakia does winter really well I decided to buy one. After I pressed all the buttons and sent the order away, I was immediately struck with “buyers remorse”. It was going to be too big, too small, too tatty and I’d never wear it. Wrong. It arrived surprising quickly, fitted perfectly and was brand spanking new, straight out of the box, and with the well fitting liner, very warm -just the job in fact. The conservative cut of it doesn't make it out of place in a civilian context without any garish colouring. I’m 5’7” and 43” round the middle, the "Large Regular" is a good fit, I could have got away with the “Long” version but am very happy with what I’ve got. The new brass zip was a little stiff at first, but running a soft pencil up and down it had the graphite lubricating it perfectly. Thank you Army and Outdoor, I don’t think I’ll be hanging the Czech M85 up much before summer.”

“used in -43C in siberia plenty warm with only an under shirt , incredible value and robust . versatile with no fear of damaging it . recommend thoroughly inspecting 1st however to check for previous field repair i.e pokey bits of steel ... airport security dont tend to have senses of humour these days”
