British DPM MVP Jacket Small (88cm) / Short Reviews

5 Rating 12 Reviews
A great outdoor jacket for rain protection. Every aspect of this jacket has been considered from a practical standpoint. Highly functional, light weight, and packs small. Great choice of fabric making a hard wearing garment that will serve well, time, and again!

Had to replace modern gortex jacket because the seam sealing was failing, so got one of these. Excellent fit, has two pockets but no fancy features, is in new condition, and works well. Very waterproof first time in rain, packs down small, and is a good length so can sit down and glass for game. Here in two days so very happy with the prompt service. Good all round!

Super fast overnight delivery from Christchurch to rural Waikato. The coat is in near-mint condition, considering it's army surplus. There was only some grass and lint on the velcro which I soon picked off. It fits well, with room underneath to allow for overalls and vests etc The coat passed the shower test with flying colours - no leaks anywhere. I've since treated it to Nikwax Tech Wash and Nikwax Wash-In to really beef up the water-proofing. I wasn't expecting it to have any pockets so I was rapped to find two chest pockets, and then a third chest pocket on the inside of the storm flap. I love the high collar that wraps around the neck. Awesome piece of kit. Ideal for the farm and at a fraction of the cost you'd pay for branded commercial coats at Farmlands etc. Grab one while you can. NB: I recommend asking ahead for a coat with pockets if you're wanting pockets, otherwise it could be a lucky dip as to whether you're sent a pocket coat or a non-pocket coat. So just keep that in mind when ordering. But apart from that, these coats rock.

1st one had chest pockets, waist draw string, elasticated internal cuffs and one inside pocket with a “normal” size hood, 3/4 length zip. 2nd one has no pockets, draw string on hem, Velcro cuffs, and the internal pocket has been cut away, “huge” hood, picking that’s for going over a helmet. Full length zip Both are fantastic raincoats, but if you like pockets for gloves are cell phone, that second one I received will drive you insane. Consider these as a outer shell and buy a size up so you can ware something with pockets underneath. Definitely could benefit from under arm vents, I wonder if the British army will get that right in newer versions Still amazing value for money, a branded one would be three times the price in NZ a Swazi maybe four times.

Great quality jacket, pretty much brand new, doesn’t look like it was worn much if at all, just has a name written in it.

have found this to be better than gore-tex, I am not sure what material it is but its performing a lot better than any gore-tex jacket I have had before, no sweating, regulate heat well so breathable, the internal cuffs are great and I find the articulation if great across the shoulders, very impressed

I was looking for a decent long body coat. The likes of Kathmandu & Macpac just seemed over priced. Hunting and Fishing options were expensive too. Took a punt on this and I am well pleased I did. Excellent garment. Sealed seams. Well covered zips. Only downsides would be no hand pockets or wired hood peak. But for less than a third of the branded ones I won’t be too worried about that. I would give these a solid 9/10 for quality and value for money.

This jacket is the dog's bollocks, the bee's knees. Not only is it light, breathable and waterproof (believe me, in the weather we've had lately, I've more than field tested it!) but it's very adjustable and looks pretty toppers on. Another thing about it is it dries right quick and one of the unexpected highlights was seeing the base it was from on the tag. When I put it on the first couple of times, I thought it was well huge (even after measuring up and picking the closest one) but you're meant to fold the collar back and velcro back the hood on to itself to get it to fit right, there's also a bunch of toggles to pull it tight with too. It's smashing for hunting, working outdoors and yomping about. I'd get this one over others as it's original and of rugged quality. May as well snag this one while you can.
