“A welcome addition to those who collect or appreciate military surplus items, especially from the old school way. The condition mine, I would classify as being used/very good. The canteen can sit up right, made of thick aluminum. It feel very solid. It will hold about 800mg (28 ounces). The wool cover looks as if it was never issued. The leather strapping shows some minor wear. I did apply a leather preservative to it, to make it more water proof.
The only con/ negative is the cup. Compared to the more robust, heavy duty cups such as the iconic GI canteen cup, this one is much smaller and seems to be delicate. The metal is thinner and the handles are small. Another addition to my collection of mil gear.”
