“I purchased a v2.1 to support an 8k VR installation. The instructions were obviously for the v2.0 (or older) and nothing else was available so I assumed they had simply redesigned the spacers. This is NOT true. I had to install and remove the plate multiple times and the wiring on my winch is still pushing against the bottom of the grill.I reached out and asked and was told new instructions were being made. After I received the product. However I was told all 4 spacers (2x each side) needed to be used for proper spaced. I had two large adults pushing on the front of the plate and still needed at least 18 space to get the side mounting bolts in. This resulted in me only using 2 spacers (1x each side) and the wiring still touching. I even removed the control box and re-routed the winch wiring. I reached out again for assistance and got no response. Now my side mounting bolts are cross-threaded after so much inout with the heavy weight of the plate on them (use something to hold the plate up). Also I need to elongate the rear two mounting holes of the skidplate to bolt it up. I bought this specifically so I didnt have to do that but if you think about it the spacers move the bumper out so the holes will no longer line up underneath. They should advertise this with the winch install instructions (assuming they are ever created).”
“I ordered the winch plate for my gladiators stock steel bumper. Shipping was great Ordered on Monday and received it on Thursday. Installation was easy fit right in. Installed a Smittybilt XRC gen 3 winch. With the spacers installed it almost fit perfectly. I had to cut the bottom trim fit the wiring but the overall installation looks good. I like the 14inch steel it should be very tough. I hope I never have to use my winch but I know when I do its not going anywhere The only thing I would change is offer the front plate in black.Thanks guys.PS the artaco is awesome.”
“This review is for the JL steel bumper winch plate though every Artec item Ive bought is excellent as is the customer service. The winch plate was reasonably easy to install with good directions. And very sturdy. Mounted a Warn Zeon 1200S with no issues. Thanks Artec”
