“This can be short! The Art of Bicycle Trips Albania Unesco Bike Tour was in one word Great! The Scenery, the people, the food, the accomodations, the bicycles and, last but not least, the guide team were all amazing!”
“We had an amazing time cycling through Albania! Gorgeous countryside, delicious local meals and the warm, kind Albanian people all contribute to the wonderful memories & the Art of Bicycling organization was excellent - organized, responsive to our questions & very easy to work with.
We cannot say enough about the local cycling company in Albania. Erlis Rizvanolli was exceptional - he was kind, genuinely considerate of all our needs , always made sure we were coping well with the itinerary, that we were “fed and watered, comfortable and happy”! He and the second guide Idit were both very knowledgable about Albanian history, geography & people and answered our endless questions with patience and enthusiasm. The cycling equipment was top of the line & the Ebikes were easy for first time Ebike riders to learn.
An exceptional trip organized by an excellent company - highly recommend both Art of Bicycling and Erlis Rizvanolli’s local Albanian company!”
“All we had to do was ride! October in Albania provided great cycling weather and scenic and varied terrain. The cycling was safe with very little vehicular traffic. The long winding downhills were a reward for the many climbs in this mountainous country. Our guide Erlis and driver Idit anticipated almost all of our needs. The accommodation was comfortable and well located for exploring and enjoying the local areas after our days of cycling. Food provided was healthy, plentiful and delicious! A thoroughly enjoyable tour of this beautiful country!”
“Went to Albania with few preconceived ideas of what to expect and couldn't have been more pleased. Our local guide and vehicle support were very friendly, informative and helpful. Our local guide had great connections with the places we stopped for food and drink and I felt like we were treated with special regard in all aspects of the trip. Cycling is great as the roads were quiet for our October trip. Albania is full of mountains so expect some challenging hills. All the more reason to enjoy the views of ocean, shepherds, spectacular mountain vistas and food at the top.”
“Albania is absolutely stunning. The guides were dedicated and very well informed and proud of their country, responsible but fun. It was a bike tour but also an education in Albania and the Balkans. The cycling was challenging but the routes were varied and beautiful. The guides were very attentive to cyclists and their needs, maintenance if and when needed, lots of water and snacks and ample, delicious lunches highlighting each region’s specialties. Accommodation was also very good.”
“Great tour, most enjoyable experience. I'd have appreciated a bit more time in the towns we visited to explore more than just the hotel and dinning options. Each town had their own history and attractions but I felt we were more focussed on getting to the next destination rather than embracing where we were. (I know time is an issue, but no one would have complained at extending a day or two. Hotels and food was OK to good all round. Maybe a ~formal 20 minute tutorial over a drink each evening would have satisfied our more academic interests. Only 2 out of our 9 cyclists completed tour without electric bikes... some warning re degree of difficulty / challenge is required to set expectations.
Your Team were great guys, helpful, responsive and friendly. Preliminary advice re gratuities for them would have eliminated some embarrasment to their clients. Overall a really positive experience.
Cheers, Phil Williams”
“Erlis was a wonderful tour guide and I didn't expect to laugh so much on a tour that was so challenging. Albania is a beautiful country with such friendly people.
We did the trip as a group of 40-ish year old friends on regular bicycles, and it was amazing. The food was delicious; I always felt well nourished for the challenge of the day, and the briefings in the morning let us know exactly what to expect.”
