Thank you for sharing the problem you have has using the sea sponge, that does not sound good at all. I hope you were able to remove all the spongey bits from your painting. As the sea sponges are a natural product they can be a little bit unpredictable, it's hard to say why this has happened as we have not had this feedback before.
