“I recently bought a Johnny the Fox in raw shell cordovan with a color 8 reverse interior. I’ve always been a fan of shell cordovan and patina. So when the guys at Ashland explained that raw shell is a patina lovers dream I had to have one. I’ve always liked the traditional style of the Johnny the Fox so I was lucky that they had a couple johnnys in raw shell ready. The leather when it’s new is flat and has no shine. You start to wonder if you made a mistake maybe you should have got a shell with a shine. Just wait. I’ve had mine now for a little over a month and it’s now changing color it’s shiny. Since shell is a directional leather when you hold it at different angles the color seems to change. I’m photo documenting the color change for one year. I’m exited to see the results after a year. From what I understand raw shell is a bit rare so if you like shell cordovan and you love patina get a wallet made from raw shell you won’t be disappointed”
“It's my 2nd Johnny the Fox. While my first is Teal Latigo, I'd like to upgrade to Cordovan. The number of slots fits my needs and wallet size is just perfect.”
Hi, Florence! I'd love to know how your teal latigo is aging. The ones that I have seen age really nicely. Once you go cordovan you never go back! Wear it well. -Phil
