“So, I’ve been loyal to my venus razor for about 8 years, my boyfriend was already subscribed to dollar shave and went on about how great it was. I loved the idea of a shave subscription that saves you from having to go out and get razors and expensive blades so I went on the hunt for something to suite my feminine needs (I’m sensitive you know…). I actually heard about Athena through the Morbid podcast, and decided to give them a try.
Upon first impression, the packaging is so cute. I love that the razor has a heaviness to it, and the shower magnet is brilliant! Also comes with an extra blade which is a NICE for $7.
As for the performance, I can say that I’m impresseddd. The razor glided over my prickly winter legs like it was nothing . It was late into January and my body hadn’t seen a razor since late September so I’m telling ya, This thing worked magic in less than 2 minutes per leg. My armpits and bikini area stood NO CHANCE. I think I got it all done in maybe 6 minutes? It was a record time considering how neglected all these areas had been. It was fast, smooth, and pain free. No razor burns, no cuts.
Also the blades has this gel like thing on it? I don’t use shaving cream and I feel like whatever the goo was really helped with the experience. I’m so pleased and happy that I went with Athena!”

“I ordered both the Billie and Athena at the same time and shaved each leg and arm pit, left arm Athena & right arm Billie. So far the Athena seems to shave closer and moved more smoothly over bent areas. Ran much smoother on the long area and need to be rinsed out less often than the Billie. Over all I’m very pleased with Athena and will be canceling the Billie.”
