My wife's review above is for "DICED BEEF", not "BEEF CHUNKS" My wife opened a can of BEEF CHUNKS last night and used it in gravy over noodles. The chunks that look in the picture on the can to be at least 1/2" on a side are really SMALLER THAN 1/4" ON A SIDE - smaller than the diced beef. This product should have been labeled BEEF BITS instead of chunks. This stuff would go good in soup or a Chile, but not as a main course. I wish this company sold "real" beef chunks that rehydrated to about 3/4" on a side. That product would work well in "beef tips and gravy". I do not give this a "bad" rating because the result tasted good, even though the texture was not pleasing.

I have purchased this product in the past and it is very good. I had my daughter perfect recipes for making beef stew and beef & gravy to be put over noodles or rice. My husband who is very picky about his food loved both items made with the freeze dried beef. We have found it to be very quick to prepare a meal with the beef that everyone enjoyed. The only down side is there is always some powder meat left in the bottom of the can. My daughter uses it in her spaghetti sauce.
