Bought this through Amazon. No mention there of the BHT that is in it. Wouldn't have bought it if I would have known it. If you don't mind BHT in your food, this would be a good product for you. Couldn't get it to melt. Tried to rehydrate it with olive oil to see if that would make it melt, not much improvement. Tastes a little different than butter but is acceptable. There is also Red Feather canned butter that is available on the market that I like better.

I use this for storage but keep a qt jar around for daily use. I use this in whole wheat biscuits instead of cutting in real butter. It makes a good biscuit. Perhaps not quite as fluffy as fresh butter but better than many biscuits from a restaurant. My family has never mentioned noticing a difference. It is a keeper in my opinion and I stock a fair amount. In fact I have been trying it in all mixes that require butter in the recipe. So far all have worked.

I bought this butter powder to use in a homemade powdered cake mix. No luck. The smell of this butter powder is similar to some powdered milks, or the smell of the cheese packet from some boxed macaroni & cheese mixes - it's a smell I don't care for at all, and it's very strong. I went ahead and made the mix, hoping the finished product wouldn't smell as strong. But the cupcakes definitely had the same unpleasant odor and flavor. I'll keep looking.

I used this today on baked cabbage, potatoes & carrots. I mixed 3T. W/equal amount hot broth from the veggies and spread some over the cooked veggies. Very good. Also, used it in pot when cooking brown rice-also good. I am already enjoying having this product.
