“I have a 2002 Mercedes SLK 230 which, after having a new steering lock fitted, was displaying the orange engine symbol. Not trusting the local garage, i decided to get one of these gizmos so I would know what the error was. I installed the Torque lite app on my android phone, plugged the device into the socket which was just below the bonnet release catch under the steering wheel, paired it up with the phone and it was all up and running. Checked the error code which didn't seem too serious and then cleared the log so the orange light went out. That was 2 weeks ago and the light hasn't come back on. I suspect the garage would have charged at least an hour's labour ($100) to check it for me and then they might have lied about the fault and charged me big bucks to fix something that wasn't even broken. Now I have this device, I am less likely to get ripped-off by dodgy mechanics in the future! I am very pleased with it.”
