“These bottles are just the thing for bottling my batch of elderberry wine. I wanted to take a bit of care over the appearance of the finished batch, rather than just using old wine bottles, and I love the shape and colour of these bottles. Mostly, though, I was keen to use corked bottles rather than screwtops because elderberry wine ages so well and the slow evaporation through a cork can improve it over time (my 1990 batch has been incredibly delicious and there's still one bottle to go!) I'm now looking forward to this year's bottling, set for July. And the subsequent drinking, obviously...”
