“I have very wide feet with prominent painful bunions. Whilst no shoe or custom orthotic is ever pain free for me, some types of shoes hurt more than others. I initially ordered the Thorntail but customer service also sent me out a pair of Hornbill sneakers to try. I found both to fit my foot well but I preferred the look of the Thorntail so kept them. I'm glad I read the reviews that said some people have found them to take a while to break in and soften. I too have found this but I was expecting it so I've been patient. So much so I have now worn them 3 times and for longer each time and they are slowly softening up. Initially my bunions ached due to the stiffness of the shoe but that has now eased. My heel did rub the first wear where my sock slipped down so I now put a pre-emptive bandaid on. This type of heel wear is very common for me with most shoes so not necessarily anything to do with this particular pair of shoes. The tongue of the shoe can be a little uncomfortable for me on the top of my foot but again I think its the stiffness of the leather and as it softens it will ease. In the meantime I just loosen the laces around my ankle a little. I don't feel the need to wear my custom orthotics with these shoes (even though they fit) since the comfort and support level is great without them. Having a wide foot but a small narrow heel I was worried this style of sneaker may not fit my foot but I'm so happy they do. I really really love being able to wear the white trainer trend now. I didn't have much luck with Bared's Kea shoe but I'm glad I took the chance to try their trainers.”

I found them to be a slightly roomier fit that a lot of my other shoes, but not to the point that I need to go down a size.”
“These were my first pair of bared shoes and definitely the start of a collection now! So comfy, and perfect fit for me (I’m an orthotic wearer, post broken foot but even without my orthotics these are amazingly comfortable). I have a narrow foot and often wear these with thin socks, so sized down. The staff were AMAZING, and the exchange / try on process is the absolute BEST customer service I have ever had (and I do loads of online shopping!)”
