“I spoke with a really helpful person on the chat before ordering my Thorntails and ultimately was very happy with the help I received! I was unsure in the beginning if the shoe felt right, I tried the extra fit kit things added and then taken out, walked around the carpet a bit and went the without option. I wore them out and they were okay (not perfect but figured I could use the fit kit to make them so) but after another wear or two I wished I hadn’t had worn them so I could’ve sent them back. The leather stretches a bit more with wear, and these shoes are already deep and loose enough. I’m finding the shoes just feel massive and clunky for me (and I’m nearly 6 foot so not much makes me feel that way!). It gapes around the ankle a lot when walking, like when you lift off from taking a step the leather bends and moves causing your ankle to shift and feel loose and awkward. Sometimes when I walk my foot catches and I do that awkward trip over your own feet thing. I just have normal feet, not wide and not really narrow I would think. I’ve never had issues with shoes before. I’ve tried putting the fit kit inserts back in but that just pushes my foot up higher, I feel it makes my foot more secure but then my entire heel starts to slip out and it’s even harder and weirder to walk. They’re a beautiful shoe, so well made, amazing quality and really comfy but aside from the length of my foot fitting perfectly, these shoes are not designed for my foot. I’m so sad about it. My advice would be that if your foot is normal or by any chance narrow go with another style. It’s an expensive loss for trial and error. (Please note if these shoes hadn’t had the fit issues they did and didn’t stretch with wear I’d be inclined to rate them much higher)”
