“I bought the patent black penguins in size 38. I'm.genetally a standard size 38 in most shoe brands. My feet are slightly on the narrow side and I've found that these sre a great fit. They were comfortable straight away. They look great with dressy pants or to dress up jeans.”
“I purchased these during lockdown. I really want them to work but each time I wear them it’s a relief to take them off. I have wide feet and they are both tight across the front of my foot and loose and slip at the back of my foot. I find the footbed on these is not as comfortable as the bared sandals that I have.
I keep hoping I’ll be able to break these in but I’m starting to think they are just uncomfortable.”

“This is the most I've ever spent on shoes, but after getting a retail role over Christmas, I thought I needed some decent shoes to be standing in all day. I've never regretted it. They're cool, comfy and I get loads of compliments on them! (To which I always reply "thanks! They're called penguins!"). I've been making a conscious effort to buy Australian as much as I can lately too, so it's also good knowing I'm not giving money to huge multinational corporations, and instead supporting Aussie businesses with better ethical practices. I can't wait to buy a pair of Bared boots towards winter and eventually have all my shoe choices covered by them!”
“I'm so glad that I hopped on board; I've been eyeing Bared for over a year, and in a short period of time, I've amassed 5 pairs of shoes! They really are stunning, versatile, and comfortable! I love my Penguin 2s! I have them in black patent and rose gold. Before, I could only wear Ecco Soft 7s to work, but now my Bared shoes are in the rotation. I love having shoes that are dressier than my sneakers but are still supportive and comfortable. I'm in the United States, and the customer service has been outstanding! So helpful with sizing! I'm between a 6.5 and 7, and I wear a 38 in the Penguins. The fit kit is super helpful if you are between sizes.”
“As much as I frequently get compliments on these shoes while wearing them on community nursing days, I would never purchase them again or recommend them. They are very stiff in the heels, making it very hard to get on (once on they’re comfy). This has caused the seam to come apart, when I emailed about it it was basically like it was my fault that I can’t get my shoes on properly.
The right heel is also coming off, would never purchase from here again.”
