“My penguins are cute and super comfortable (they took one wear for me to break them in). However, after about the third wear the leather came away from the toe in little circles (kind of like I’d been grinding the points against concrete... except I hadn’t) making them unwearable... Bared so far haven’t been responsive to helping me fix the problem, which is disappointing, as I’ve otherwise found their customer service to be excellent.”

“Really love my black penguins. My husband jokes that I look like Michael Jackson in them - so I make sure to dance around plenty in them!! They took a few wears to break in - especially the patent leather at the top was a little firm, but they now fit like a glove - even with my orthotics. I am finding that the lining on the inner is coming away at the toes, which is a little disappointing for an expensive pair of shoes. I will talk to the Bared team about this and hopefully get a good outcome. Loving these shoes a lot so would be sad to have to let them go.”

“Absolutely love these - they are perfect for work (and go well with my corporate wardrobe) and they are also amazing on the weekend (with jeans, or a dress)! They were super comfortable from day one - I wore the lighter inserts for the first week or so until they leather softened up and switched back to the regular inserts. They are truly so versatile and comfy and I highly recommend them - just be careful on rougher surfaces as I scuffed the leather on some gravelly road but that's more a comment on my clumsiness than a criticism of the shoe!”
