Thanks so much for leaving a review. All of our shoes are actually made with a steel shank which runs in the sole from the heel to the mid foot - this is ensure proper foot movement (flex and gait). This does add to the weight of the shoe and can take a little while to get used to, although most customers find it ok after a few wears.
