I ordered a Strong replacement battery for my Dyson V6 stick vacuum that kept running out of charge after about 10 mins. It was very easy to order and I received the order very quickly. The Dyson vacuum now works very well and I’m able to now vacuum the whole house without the battery loosing charge. Hopefully the Strong battery will keep on keeping on.

I used this battery to fix the good ol’ “Dyson V6 battery lasts for 20 seconds” issue on a very old Dyson V6 animal. I purchased a ‘fluffy head’ replacement tool at the same time to tackle fine dust and cat hair on our painted concrete floor. The battery lasted for around 30 mins on ‘max’ setting on my particular V6, covering about 100 sq metres. I was using the Batterymate “fluffy head” tool at this time, on a solid concrete floor that had already been passed over by my Dyson DC23 barrel vac with the factory Turbine head, which removed a lot of larger particles and tumbleweeds of cat hair. The filter in the centre of the V6 cyclone was freshly cleaned for this run. I did a relatively thorough job of the floor using the V6, making sure the fluffy head was run around skirting boards, and paid attention to the fine dust that the DC23 Turbine obviously missed. The V6 stopped after around 30 mins, in which time I stopped occasionally for about 5 minutes total., The battery indicator flashed orange; 2 blinks. Being that there is no documentation accompanying the battery to say what the LED codes are, I assume the battery is flat, although a quick google says it could be overheat protection, as is common with batteries of this type. The handle of the V6 was warm, but not uncomfortably so. The V6 with the ‘fluffy head’ tool pulled a small amount of additional dirt and hair from the floor, but only about 1/4 of the barrel capacity (see photo) The battery is on charge now, so I’m unsure on recharging times. We have 2 cats and a wood heater in an open plan house, so cat fur and fine ash dust is commonplace here. Our floors are painted concrete. All in all, the runtime is not too bad. I used ‘max’ setting on the V6 over the entire floor, focussing on areas with fine dust, which will have doubtlessly knocked the battery runtime around.

The original battery on our Dyson DC58 Max died after about 8 years. This replacement has about 5 times the capacity. It was easy for me to install with a bit of guidance from YouTube. The battery works perfectly and it is great to have the larger capacity - it means that our cleaning is rarely interrupted by empty battery stall. The new battery is thicker by about 15 mm, so the machine was tending to tip forward when charging or waiting on the bench. I fixed this by taping a piece of wood to the underneath of the dust canister with doube-sided tape. (You could achieve the same outcome by resting the canister on a small block of wood or a book.) For us, the value of the extra capacity far outweighs the minor aesthetic challenge of the thicker battery. We have a super battery and the price was lower than the smaller-capacity branded replacement.
