“I have difficulties getting kayaks on and off my roof because of shoulder, kneck and strength issues. But, I only have to get this onto the back seat or hatch boot which is feasible at 14kg. It is a bit more mucking about, equipment and time to inflate and I need a foam mat for my bad knees but I can achieve it alone and I am sure others won't find this as much an effort as I. This inflatable allows me to be independant and that is what matters.
On the plus side it has a raised seat with a good back support and your but doesn't get wet. I need to raise my elbows a lot more to paddle over the sides so maybe the sides are a bit high for short people but I feel safe and keep dry. Additionally ,It is easy to wipe down so I know it is going in its' bag dry.
I am short so when I have heaps of passengers and luggage I normally take the sit on top kayak because I have people to help me get it on and off my SUV but it is good to be independent. All inflatables are not as stable but once on the water I adjusted quickly but I am a novice and coped well on the lake; others might not even notice.The rigid bow, stern and reinforced sides allowed me to move faster or with less effort than the sit on top. This is better for me because I have so many physical limitations.There is no way I would buy a canvas inflatable as it takes ages to dry and I don't want to have to unpack and dry it out at home then have to re-pack it. The least amount of effort the better. Out of all inflatables, this kayak won hands down on care, the effort for the outcome, portability and ability to be independent..”
