Air Glide Advance 385 - 3.85M Single Inflatable Kayak Blue/Yellow Reviews

4 Rating 2 Reviews
After a couple of times out on the water the kayak appears to be good quality generally and paddles well and is stable. Tried to use as a SUP and went well, though as both a kayak and a SUP it is a little hard to turn. After one outing the seat has left a stain on the floor which doesn’t appear to come off. The included paddle (3 piece) seems to have the 2 bulky joins right where I want to place my hands, which is a little uncomfortable. The seat isn’t as comfortable as my wife’s Advanced Elements kayak and seems not to want to stay upright and folds over on the back near the seat, constant attempts to adjust don’t seem to help. The kayak comes with zero instructions or maintenance guides.

I have found the kayak to be excellent so far with a couple of minor gripes. It inflates to a nice solid platform and it glides through the water well. So far it seems to be well made and robust. My 2 gripes are that I don't find the seat it comes with to be very supportive and I have already ordered a different one. The other is that, with the standard 8 inch skeg, it tracks too well, to the extent that it is very hard to turn once you are moving forward without having to dig a blade in to drag it around. I have purchased a 4 inch skeg and it is a much better compromise in my view. As part of this gripe, the standard mount for the skeg is a slightly odd size compared to most meaning I've had to spend considerable time grinding the mount on the new skeg to fit the mount. Ideally, this kayak would come with a much smaller skeg and a more standard size mount. Overall it is a very enjoyable kayak and good value.
