Hug - Sit-In Double 5.2m Touring Kayak White/Blue Reviews

4.7 Rating 28 Reviews
We like the kayak but it is difficult to steer (awkward rudder mechanism compared to other kayaks we have owned) and there is not a whole lot of room for taller people in the front cockpit.

After 3 times out on the HUG tandem, we’re still loving this kayak. Easy to paddle, tracks well, fun to use. Appears robust. Looking forward to a long term relationship with this water craft.

Love the double sit-in touring kayak. Excellent quality and smooth glide through the water. The staff were a joy to deal with and delivery of the kayak was exceptional. Thank you very much

It took way too long to arrive. It’s a great buy though. Good quality for money. Some small leaks into the ’dry’ compartments, and the seats are less than ideal. However, light, easy to handle, stable in the water.

Kayak delivered 'paddle away' complete with all the gear we needed to store, transport, launch and paddle. Superb tandem setup, a heavy single man lift but manageable once the balance point was identified, and loading/unloading onto the Outback roofrack and J racks is a simple one man job. Runs straight and stable, and even when front paddler mutinies and stows the paddle, easy to keep moving forward in estuarine conditions and flowing tides. Foot pedals for steering are a little less responsive than I was expecting, but in fresh water lakes or Mooloolaba estuary, only fine foot inputs are required to trim the boat straight. A sound purchase as a 'divorce boat' and we love taking it away for the weekend for a paddle at Tin Can Bay, Mooloolaba, Noosa or Wivenhoe Dam. If you are after a tandem sea kayak, this is a pretty good start.
