“I used it on a paddling trip last Sat. Having tested it at home on a Subaru Forester AWD loading from the rear is hard work.
The cradles are too flat for my Greenland hull sea kayak and it tips sideways all the time making it hard to use. It would be good to have cradles that are more v shaped than c shaped.
The suggestion is I tried loading the boat from the front of the car. This is much much easier. Placing one cradle on the bonnet near the front and the other at the top of the windscreen it is super easy to lift the boat to waist height pop it on the front cradle and slide it up picking up the other end of the boat. It doesnt fall off like it easily does loading from the back but the tipping sideways is a pain. I am going to have to modify it somehow which isnt good when you spend $200. Most expedition kayaks are narrow like my Prijon Seayak. In summary it is better than nothing but not easy to use with a sea kayak.
Three stars for function two for value for money.”
“This product has been amazing ! It allows a single women to load her kayak unaided. Freedom is awesome. I can now go for a paddle anytime I want without waiting for help.”
“Delivery was fast, product works and saves my back!
I had to put it on the front bonnet and front windscreen because I have a rear spoiler on the boot. This suggestion came from sales at Bay Sports - thanks.
It leaves rubber suction marks on the windscreen which I have to rub off.”
