KXone Slider 410 Superlite - 4.1M Double Inflatable Kayak Reviews

4.9 Rating 26 Reviews
Kayak arrived in record time during Christmas period. Kayak is better than expected, easy to pump up, great material so no worries about punctures, the quality is quite surprising. Customer service from Bay Sports was excellent given my many questions.

I bought this for my wife and I as we enjoy kayaking but have only ever rented them before. Setting up the 410 is simple and takes 10 minutes or so from getting the backpack out of the car. We were a bit worried about how it tipped side to side as we were paddling but quickly got used to it and have not felt in danger of capsizing, even when caught in the wake of passing tinnies. The secondary stability as it goes onto its side is very good. When inflated it’s solid and well built, I don’t feel any imminent danger of punctures. Packing up is similarly simple, we keep some towels in the car to wipe it down once it’s out of the water and it’s made the maintenance aspect a breeze. At the time of this review we’ve been out on the water 2 times and spent around 5 hours paddling about. My wife is 5’ and I am 6’ and we both fit well. I don’t use the foot rest as it makes the seating arrangement a little too short for my liking, if I was any taller I would think about getting the 485. The included paddles are fine but a little too short for me so I’ll be replacing one of them soon enough. The pump hose didn't seat well on the pump end and was leaking a little air, not enough to make inflating to the recommended 8 PSI impossible but a leak nonetheless. I used some silicone gas seal tape around the threading and that stopped the leak entirely. Overall I am very impressed with the Kayak and if you want something sturdy, that'll fit 2 regular sized people and will fit in the back seat of your mirage I would not hesitate to recommend it.

We have really enjoyed getting out in the kayak. It is very easy to pump up, assemble and deflate. The bag is generous in size, so the kayak fits easily back into it. It is a bit of a squeeze to get the seats etc in too and the paddles need to be carried separately. Nice high sides, so not much water gets in and handles the harbor well. Easy to carry to the water with two people.

The quality of the clips etc on seats are not stainless so after using 3 times they have already corroded . For the price we paid I would have expected everything to be stainless. The kayak itself is comfortable and is reactive to turning etc. Getting it back in the bag is a bit of a mission but I am sure we will get better at it.

Had to wait for delivery but it was worth it. We've had several fg canoes before, this one is quite stable and swift. It's rigidity with the drop stitch construction technique is very impressive. The online help service is prompt, accurate and patient, especially with the technology challenged. overall we're very happy.

I have been out kayaking in my Slider 410 a few times now and I am impressed. The portability and compact nature of this kayak were important to me as I have limited storage and wanted to be able to easily transport the kayak. The 410 has fulfilled these requirements really well. The other important thing in choosing the 410 was that the size was really good being able to accomodate both a single paddler or two paddlers. The size seems ideal for both. The 410 takes about 15 minutes to fully setup and inflate using the hand pump provided (very easy). I can lift and set up easily on my own. When inflated the shell is really firm and the kayak looks really good. The drop stitch technology certainly delivers a hull which looks and feels like a hard shell. In the water it tracks well, is manoeuvrable and moves well. The Slider 410 seems well made. I have no real concerns about puncturing as the hull is well protected with a durable fabric. I will be interested in the longevity of the 410 and whether the kayak will still be viable in several years time. The 410 has delivered a great experience and I’d certainly recommend it.
