These things are a pain. If I did it again, I would get the BDX heavy duty control arms, and use the ball joints that go with them, I have BMI’s spider box kit, and it’s hard to get them tight because of the space for a backing wrench. Had to grind a wrench down for it to fit.

These things are absolute monsters. As a replacement for joints that made a company go out of business, these are top notch. Huge quality difference. We had two ball joint failures, once while I was driving and once while my daughter was driving. I figured enough was a enough and replaced them with the highest quality ones I can find. After installation I fear my A-arms or spindles are going to give out next because they will fail before these ball joints will, so they are on the schedule for replacement.

I installed a full set of these over this last weekend with good results. They are far superior than the original design. My original ball joints were in way worse condition than I thought compared to these. my one gripe is that with stock arms, these will cause contact at lower ball joint washer to the inside of the spindle with the suspension extended all the way down. I don't know if other yerfs will do it, but mine did. I used a grinder to grind a little off the washer to limit contact. with weight on the buggy, it doesn't appear to do it. My plan is to get the BDX arms next, just so I won't have to worry about stock arm anyway.
