“Caveat: when you first take it out of the package, peel it apart VERY carefully. I pulled mine apart too quickly and tore a small area loose on the top layer on one side. But it's reinforced on the inside with mesh threads, so it's not going to get a hole in it. I'll just clip off the little torn flap.
When you open the tube, the towel inside is squishy like foam. After I used it, rinsed it, and hung it to dry, it became very dry and stiff. I'm not sure how it's "supposed" to be, but it's ok because the only thing that matters is how it works. We used this while waiting to watch fireworks outside for the fourth. It was so hot and muggy. The towel definitely got cool and stayed cool. Not ice cold, but cool to the touch. While it was not dripping wet, it did stay damp or clammy. I didn't care for the clammy feel of wearing it against my skin, so I turned it over to my husband to use. He liked it a lot and wore it for several hours, said it kept him cooler. He said it stayed noticeably cooler even though it was in direct sunlight.
I was able to purchase this at a discount in exchange for my honest review.”
“These towels work great. I bought them to help keep my family cool when we're outside watching the kids play on Soccer or football teams. These games become miserable to watch when you're sweaty-hot, and here in Arizona we've had some really hot game days already this year. The texture of the towels remind me of a chamois that you would use as a diver or to wipe your car down. To use you soak the towel in water, ring it out, and then flap the towel in the wind to cool it down. I don't know how they get colder but they really do. Out of curiosity I used our digital thermometer to test how much cooler the towel became after wetting, ringing and flapping. I was surprised to see the temp went down 13 degrees. The towels come in a plastic case which is nice for storing and transporting although you should know the case isn't waterproof as it has a little hole in the bottom to allow airflow and prevent molding to the towel. Just be sure to ring out your towel before folding it in the case and you won't have any leakage issues. Also I had questions for the company after receiving the product and emailed them. I heard back from an actual person within a couple hours and she was very curtious and helpful. It's always nice to know when a company has good customer service. I received this towel discounted for my review, but these are my honest opinions about the product.”
“This is a nifty little towel! As advertised, it feels very cool to the touch when wet, yet somehow does not feel WET to the touch. It is extremely simple to use: run cold water on the towel until it is fully saturated, then squeeze out the excess water. I was surprised how cold it felt – it feels wonderful draped around my neck when I'm feeling too warm. I wanted to test how “dry” the towel was, so I wet a regular towel and this one, wrung them both out, and set them on a piece of colored paper. After three minutes, the paper was soaked through from the regular towel but had only a few slightly damp spots from the Bear Grips – pretty impressive! See the attached picture.
It seems to be made of some sort of foam material (it doesn't say anywhere exactly what it is made from). I thought the towel had a bit of strange smell when I first took it out of the plastic tube, but I let it dry out completely after the first use and now I don't notice any smell whatsoever. The towel comes in a plastic carrying tube with the instructions for use printed clearly on the outside. I really like that it comes with this tube - the towel fits easily inside, and the tube is easy to throw in a gym bag or large purse. This keeps the towel moist so it is always ready to bestow its cooling powers.”
“I love this cooling towel. I purchased this because I need a way to keep my baby cool during the summer months in sunny California. This is made out of a foam-like material that is soft when it is wet.. Some of the other cooling towels are not as soft and I don't want to use them against my baby's skin. I put this cooling towel in the bottom of the carseat before we drive somewhere and do not have to worry about my baby being uncomfortable. I also use this when I am baby wearing. It gets HOT here. I love to have my baby on me, but sometimes I just can't handle the heat. This helps. I use put it between my baby and I and is so much easier to wear her! I wet this, wring it out, and it is good to go! I don't use this for more then a few hours at a time ever, so the cool lasts plenty long enough for me. I sometimes need to rewet this when I am using it in the car if I am out running errands, but that is super easy for me to do with a water bottle.
I tried to make my own cooling towel out of just a microfiber cloth and it didn't work. My baby was very wet every single time I used my homemade cooling towel. This is great because my baby and I both stay dry. This washes easily and comes out of the dryer looking and feeling super soft. I am very pleased with this purchase.
I did purchase this product at a discounted price in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I do not guarantee 5 star reviews unless the product is one I would buy again and/or recommend to friends. I like to test out products that I typically would purchase at full price so I can provide a review based on a real trial. I hope sharing my experience and writing this review helps you with your purchase decision.”
