“My boyfriend had major, epic knee surgery (tibial plateau fracture, torn miniscus, torn LCL) before I met him, and it still gives him issues long after the recovery. So I bought him a variety of knee braces to help him with everyday activities. This is one of several I purchased for him. Here is a summary of his experience with this product.
This particular brace is best utilized for heavy-duty purposes, and earns its five stars in this capacity. It provides all around support for the knee. Naturally, his thigh slides to the right a bit, off center of the knee, while normally walking. But this is exacerbated when he carries heavy weight. While utilizing this brace, he was able to lift and move a heavy sofa out of the house, accross the yard, down steps into a garage with no trouble. He was amazed that his knee just felt like a "normal" knee. That alone was a shock to him, that it just felt like his other knee.
This brace is not suitable, in his opinion, for everyday use or wear throughout the day, even though it could fit beneath some jeans. Tighter pants would not be suitable. It does cause a small measure of discomfort, but more sweating than anything. So a lither brace, with thinner material, for everyday use would be more appropriate than this. But this brace is ideal for more serious endeavors.
