“Lessons with Melanie are always positive and fun! She is patient and encouraging while paying close attention to technique. I had never played the accordion before and after a few years with Melanie's well planned program, I am now enjoying playing various genres of music and able to play with other musicians. Melanie is a very accomplished accordion player - it is always a pleasure to hear her play the tunes.”

“Melanie was extremely enthusiastic, well-organized, clear in her communication, and very affirming to me as a beginner adult learner. I could not have had a better teacher and the world of Accordion playing is better because Melanie is sharing her talent and teaching skills with the world! I look forward to returning to more lessons when my life settles a bit. Thanks Melanie, for planting such positive seeds toward my growing love for accordion.”

“Melanie is an amazing accordion teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed my biweekly Skype classes with her. She is well versed and knowledgeable about how to teach adult learners new to the accordion and is very patient, encouraging and supportive. Melanie was always on time with our lessons, communicated any schedule changes well ahead of time and easily accommodated my schedule changes as well. She is passionate about music and made learning easy as I progressed step-by-step through the lesson books. Once I had progressed from my 12 bass accordion, she guided me to the next level - a 48 bass accordion that I have now. I would 100% encourage any accordian music lover to take lessons from Melanie.”

“As an adult student of Melanie, I have found her teaching meets that critical balance between patient encouragement and ensuring that I push myself to make good progress, to a point where I really enjoy playing the accordion. Also, Melanie's YouTube videos of her playing the pieces in the Palmer-Hughes accordion course book are a great help.”

“I am studying with Melanie for about a year now. She is by far the best music teacher I've ever worked with, and I tried many with various instruments I was learning to play. On top of being a great musician, Melanie has a rare talent of having an uncanny understanding of how her pupils are progressing. If you're struggling, she'll slow down and help you master a particularly difficult piece or technique. If you're moving briskly, she'll adjust the speed and level of difficulty so that you're motivated and keep reaching new hights. Melanie is also very creative with a musical material: while staying within the mainstream of the recommended study books, she'll adjust if you want to learn a specific piece and help you find the best arrangement and work on the music you love. Overall, I can highly recommend Melanie as a music teacher for anyone wishing to learn to play an instrument that they love.”
