“Bellami Boo-Gattis used to be my FAVORITE extensions, I have recommended them to everyone who asks me about my hair or extensions. I even went as far as creating a 36k+ view YouTube video on how to install and why I love these extensions. My previous set of Boo-Gattis lasted 3 years, going from the Bellami platinum blonde color, to being toned ashy, to bright vivid red (with multiple color fills because it faded), then jet black. At that point they were just starting to get a bit too rough to work with.
The set I purchased most recently was in the shade "vibrant red" because I've gone back to vivid red. They are more of a light copper color. They arrived feeling nice, but seemed to be thinner than my last set. I should have weighed them to check, but I was in a rush to have them installed. I had them professionally cut and colored one time. Other than when they were colored, I've only washed them once and exclusively use salon quality products, ensuring to use heat protectant before hot tools, brushing them out, not using hair ties, keeping them hung, etc. Basically I treat these better than my own hair. I also rarely wear them, maybe once a week or every other week.
After a month I started noticing they were getting split ends, shedding at an alarming rate, and easily tangling. I've had this issue with low quality extensions, but never from Bellami. At that point I decided to wash and deep condition them because I thought they may have too much product buildup. Washing and conditioning them did not help, and I noticed that one of the extensions became so tangled I could barely brush it out, like a matted rats nest (again, never had this problem with Bellamis before). After these issues continued to worsen, I took them into my hairstylist to have her assess the situation. She confirmed that I'm doing everything I should be, and was shocked that they no longer feel or look like the Bellami quality we expected. There is a ton of breakage mid shaft (which doesn't make sense to me as I don't put my hair up), they tangle into mats with minimal movement, and they feel greasy yet dry at the same time. I am extremely disappointed and feel like I wasted my money, as I will now have to purchase another set of extensions. I'm sad to say that I do not plan on ordering from Bellami again, and I would not recommend them to others as I do not believe their current quality is worth the price.”
