“This kit made descaling my tankless water heater very easy, came with everything needed to get the job done. The pump seems very well built has plenty of power but not too much, the hoses were the perfect length and sealed up nicely. When rinsing the system the hoses are able to be hooked together for added length for reaching a sink or floor drain. The bucket is the perfect size I like that it’s square vs round it makes shelf storage easier since it doesn’t waste space along the sides. Love that the lid is built in so things can by stacked on top as well. The pump and hoses easily fit inside for storage. I think this is a great little kit totally recommend it.”
“We needed to clean our tankless water heater it had been installed for a year and we want to take care of the investment. The water heater company recommended this descaler and finding everything we needed in a kit made it easy. We can keep everything in the bucket clean and tidy for next year. The product worked as advertised and the project was done in about an hour and a half. Our water heater is in a closet in the house so having no leaks was important. No leaks and the directions were simple to follow between the instructions on the bottle and the water heater cleaning instructions. Highly recommend this kit for cleaning tankless water heaters.”
“Opened the kit and the solution was opened causing the cardboard to break apart and get inside of the pump as well as corrode all the metal connections. A giant mess!”
“The Flow-Aide descsler kit comes with a very powerful pump. So powerful, in fact, that you need to make absolutely sure there is no leak from the hose fittings, otherwise water will shoot across the room. They thoughtfully provide extra washers in the kit, but don't tell you that you need to double-up the washers in each if the hose fittings to prevent leaks. Once I figured that out, it worked well.
After 45 minutes of descaling, I ran fresh water through the water heater for 5 minutes, as directed, running the discharge through a hose to the outside. That apparently was not enough because after I reconnected the water heater to the plumbing, I could smell the descaler chemical in the got water for the next two days. I was careful not to drink water from the got tap and filtered the cold water, but was still a bit concerned that I could smell the chemical for so long.”
