“This module is inserted into one of Rainbird's controller panels where it is supposed to work as a wireless gateway via a "Rainbird xxxx" network appearing on your smartphone. You also have the option via wi-fi to link to the Rainbird server for updates and control when you are away from home. Problem one: The wi-fi Module will send a signal to your phone and then it won't despite being feet away from the module. In other words, it disappears at will.
Problem two: Given the previous problem, I could never get the entire setup to work with the internet eg. my router, despite having the correct gigahertz signal(s). Summarily, even if you opt out of the server feature which it allows you to do, without the signal from the module to your smartphone, the Rain Bird - ESP-ME WIFI system is a failure. If you are looking to upgrade an older control box to a wi-fi box, save your money.”
