“Got a great price at Big Frog, and it works great. i have two of these. one situated at the closest fixture (kitchen sink) to the water heater, and the second one at the farthest fixtures. press the button, and it runs the recirc for 5 minutes, but you'll get hot water in about 5-15 seconds at the closest fixture, and about 15-30 seconds at the farthest fixtures. i only wish it didn't look the way it does.
cons: i have them mounted on the inside of the doors below the sinks to keep them hidden, since they're not very attractive. the materials used feel pretty cheap as well, but i yanked one of them off the wall from it's mounting back, and any other product of the same feel would have broken, for sure. this one didn't, but it still feels a bit cheap. the light turns on when you press any portion of the unit too hard.
pros: i turned off the scheduling recirc as i thought it was a waste of energy. this is perfect.”
“The Control-R push button allows you to almost instantaneously start the recycling pump for your Rinnai system. We purchased two, locating one in the master bathroom and one in the kitchen. (The crossover valve is located under the kitchen sink.) Pressing the button gives us almost instantaneous hot water in the kitchen, and greatly reduces the amount of water wasted in the master bathroom.
Installation was very simple using the enclosed directions.”
