“Funny as it sounds, every fly angler should have a few of these in their box. Local rivers here have private stretches where the ranchers routinely pellet feed their trout. Bullshit? I think so, doesn't change the fact that they do it. Let's say you have invested into your fishing day and you've made it out there... Then all of a sudden dog food comes floating down the river, the river fills with violent explosions of fish greedily feeding on top. You have 2 options, go home or match the "hatch". I guarantee you these fish won't eat anything but a pellet when the pellet hatch is going down. I throw a fly similar to these with a long leader and have hooked fish upwards of 10lbs on the top.”
