Hot Pepper Suet Cake for Birds Reviews

4.7 Rating 49 Reviews
I like that this deters squirrels because I have a lot of them. However I wish my birds would find it in my upside down feeder. It's been in the feeder for awhile now and seems to hold up well to humidity and such, but the birds haven't been able to find it yet. Maybe I will move my feeder to a different location.

I absolutely love the Hot Pepper Suet cake! Before trying it, the squirrels had taken over and it was an all out war between the squirrels and the birds. Now, after getting a taste of that hot pepper… The squirrels won’t come within a few feet of it. I have a wide variety of birds that are regular visitors and they love it. This is the only suet cake that I use year round.

I put this is my regular suet feeder as to keep away squirrels. It totally worked!! The birds absolutely loved the taste of it! Would recommend to anyone who is trying to keep squirrels away from regular flavored suet.

I put this suet cake out in my bird feeder and haven’t seen any birds attracted to it. That’s unfortunate. We have lots of birds around the area. Not sure if they’re the wrong type for this cake or what.

This suet cake is easy to load into the feeder and not messy like some others. It is hard to say if the birds like it because it has not been up very long and we have lost a lot of trees in our area so the birds are not as plentiful. Hopefully some will come back and enjoy the cake.

We live in town, so we don't get that many woodpeckers, but this brought us a downy woodpecker who came back several days in a row. Although we do have squirrels, they have never really shown much interest in our suet cakes, and were not interested in this one either. I would definitely buy this again.
