I hung the insect suetcake in my dual basket, and found that the birds liked this suet more than the pepper suet. I even had to keep chasing the chipmunk and squirrel away.

Super easy to put into the feeder and the birds seem to love it as well. we live right by the woods so this has helped draw out so many more birds out our way by our house. Its a nice surprise walking by our kitchen window and seeing the birds outside.

Great product! Love that it attracts woodpeckers and bluebirds among others. No melt so it does dissolve in the rain or heat as far as I've witnessed. Lasted for quite a few days as well. Has peanuts, dehydrated insects, corn and rendered beef stock.

I have a suet feeder that holds two suet cakes. The birds actually like both of the cakes I have filled my feeder with. One side is hot pepper and the other side is the insect cake. The birds like both sides so I can honestly say you can't go wrong with either one.
