“Bird feeder holds a lot of seed and has a shield to protect the birds from the weather. It took my squirrel a while to somehow get the top off and actually get inside feeder and eat his fill!! So I first used duct tape to secure top but he can chew it off. Next, I used Gorilla tape and he chewed through it too!! That just delayed him a bit! Trying to figure out what to do next. Maybe somehow wire it so squirrel can not get top off. By the way, he only needs to get one side free so he can get inside. This squirrel is tenacious and is only one in neighborhood so far who keeps trying! This product needs to have a screw on top or something more secure”
“I live in the Northeast and Bluejays empty my old feeders in a day. It was very expensive. I bought this feeder and lowered the baffle and now only my small birds get to use it and my feed lasts a lot longer. I have yet to see a squirrel able to get at it.”
“My first one lasted 15 years before a mighty wind sent it to the ground. I was very happy to find the same model again. It holds lots of black oil seeds for the birds, not squirrels. It is perfect placed out 3' from window screen. Busy all day with little waste. Did I mention the squirrels do not like it at all.”
“1) The baffle doesn't stay in place. I had to put masking tape at the height I wanted it so it wouldn't keep sliding down.
2) The baffle being see-through clear, may make it hard for birds to figure out how to dafely get to the seed ports. I applied pieces of paper to the baffle so birds could see it better. Later I applied masking tape to the entire edge of it. (UGLY!!!)
3) Within half an hour of hanging the feeder, the squirrels had removed the top and were happily sitting in the seed, munching away.
4) the plastic piece in the bttom makes the feeder's inside hard to clean.
5) I do like the large quantity of seed it holds.
6) The seed stays nice and dry.
