Hanging Small Fly-Thru Bird Feeder in Dark Blue Reviews

4.8 Rating 90 Reviews
Upon receiving the Fly-Thru Feeder I was incredibly pleased with the vibrant blue color. It has been a great compliment to the yard and garden, contrasting wonderfully with the summer greens. The feeder provides great access for filling and cleaning with the removable roof, and the seeds are well retained. We have seen increased use of the feeder by chickadees and cardinals. However, to attract more birds, I think the clearance between the tray and the roof could be increased as we are predominately seeing smaller birds use the feeder. As seen in the photos, the feeder does a great job of providing a dry space for the birds to eat freely and have a rest. We have enjoyed watching the birds come and go, rain or shine!

Love this feeder! The blue is very pretty and looks great next to my Birds Choice suet feeder. Have it filled with favorites…peanut splits and sunflower seeds. Frequent visitors are jays, cardinals and woodpeckers. I am sure it will be very durable and popular throughout our Michigan winters!

Directly out of the box I noticed a groove in the roof running the entire length. I first thought the integrity was compromised but after looking closely, it does not appear to extend into the roof itself so maybe it has something to do with the mold used during production? Some buyers may be concerned with the appearance believing it to be a faulty product, but the birds surely don't care as cardinals, sparrows, and red-winged blackbirds have so far visited the feeder. I wish the hanger was not so long which would make it easier to place a dome over it for rain protection. A shorter hanger would not impede filling or cleaning as it is a fly-thru feeder. I haven't seen where there may be any issue cleaning the platform grid even with white millet being offered. I am now using only nutrasaff to deter squirrel feeding.

I am about to move the feeder for the fourth time since it arrived at my address. It's been about a week or so and I've not seen any bird activity yet. That's why I'm moving it for the fourth time. Maybe it's the color - - I have 2 nyjer seed feeders in the back yard that are bright yellow in color. I can't send you any pictures because my basic flip phone does have a camera. I will move the feeder today nad watch for the next several days - - then I will move the feeder to my front yard in front of my bay window. I did buy an expensive bag of seed for this feeder. It's a very "hot seed" because there is a squirrel problem in my part of town. I will continue to move the feeder around until I can get the birds to feed every day.

The variety of birds has been spectacular. Watching the woodpeckers, tufted titmice, bluejays, chickadees, and cardinals coming through has been the highlight of my summer.

Love this new feeder. At first the birds were hesitant about using it but the last few days have become quite a feeding frenzy in the feeder. It has become so popular that I have to fill it two or three times a day to keep up with the demand. It works great and so far has stood up well to the high heat we had in IL. The color is also great and looks good against the color of our house and white fence. Highly recommended!

Great small-sized feeder to attract and allow smaller birds (sparrows, finches, etc.) to feed without getting crowded out by larger birds - which often happens on my larger platform feeders.

I do have a large fly through feeder but I really love this small fly through feeder. It will stand up to all types of weather and the materials it is made of will last a long time. I have had golden finches visit it.I know I'm going to enjoy using it with it ease of easy cleaning. Thank you for a wonderful feeder!
