Hanging Small Fly-Thru Bird Feeder in Dark Blue Reviews

4.8 Rating 88 Reviews
First of all, I was thrilled to see the feeder when I opened the box - I love the recycled bird feeder/house products - I had just purchased a tray feeder and a birdhouse a month ago. This blue feeder is a perfect color to brighten my yard. The screen bottom is wonderful as it allows any rain water to quickly drain out so the seed doesn't spoil. The feeder's lift-off roof makes it easy to fill with seed. Cleaning the feeder is a piece of cake. This is a pretty clean-cut feeder - I don't have to worry about wood taking a long time to dry, or plastic nooks and crannies to try and get gunk out of. At this point, my main bird diners have been house sparrows, probably because I hung it too close to a bush where they're roosting at night, but I have no doubt that other birds will find it and partake of my offerings. It's still summer, but I'm sure this feeder will hold up well to our midwestern winter. Thanks so much for allowing me to review this new feeder from Birds Choice!

The birds found this feeder quickly after hanging it. It's only been up a few days now, but so far we've had Northern Cardinals, Carolina Wrens, and a couple of Eastern Bluebirds. We really like that it's made out of recycled plastic. The bold blue color isn't especially to our liking, though. Our preference leans more toward the Brazilian Walnut (which is fantastic), then the Taupe, and lastly a drab olive green (which Birds Choice doesn't appear to offer yet). The aluminum screen is especially nice and appears to be very durable and easy to clean. We wish we had aluminum screens like this for our pole-mounted Seed Catcher Platform Bird Feeder. Its trays tend to rust. All in all it's a very nice feeder. In hindsight we would opt for a slightly larger fly-through feeder in the future that could accommodate more birds.

My first impression is that this feeder is well built, with nice nice materials, and I expect it to look good and last for a nice long time. . Depending on what we put in it we have had finches, sparrows, chickadees, blue jays, and even a downy woodpecker feeding from it. So far it has been an excellent, versatile, nice looking feeder.

This is a lovely little feeder, and it fits into all kinds of situations. The blue color is different from most other bird feeders and is very attractive. It's easy to fill, especially with the ability to raise the lid a bit to accommodate whatever container you use to fill your feeders. It's the first fly-through feeder I've ever had, and I really like the ability to attract different kinds of birds, including small and medium-size birds. I use a mix of safflower seeds and hot pepper sunflower hearts to try to keep squirrels away, and this works well with the mesh bottom. All in all, I really love the fly-thru feeder and recommend it to others.

I placed feeder with my other feeders in side yard. It appeared that the feeder was acceptable and the food was gone before other feeders.

Aesthetically very pleasing and modern looking. Deep blue is a very pretty color. Feeder has been popular with fledging blue birds as well as finches, chickadees, and nuthatches. Swapped this feeder for another established one and birds started using it within a day. Retains seeds well, relatively easy to clean. Would be easier to clean if bottom removable but using larger seeds like shelled sunflowers and mealworms makes it easier rinse with garden hose.

Beautiful deep blue Fly-Thru Feeder. The color is amazing. Complements my other feeders perfectly. The size is great. Big enough for several birds to feed at once. But petite enough so the bigger ‘bully’ birds don’t scare off the smaller birds. The construction of this feeder is outstanding. And I love the construction of this feeder. Workmanship is amazing. And the material will last a lifetime. Stands up to any weather. And we get it all here, rain, snow, sleet, humidity and zero degree days. Never a single crack or fade. And keeping it clean is a breeze. I just rinse it out and every month or so I give it a deep clean by soaking it. This feeder will look just like new for years.
