Hanging Small Fly-Thru Bird Feeder in Dark Blue Reviews

4.8 Rating 88 Reviews
This is my 5th feeder from Bird's Choice, second fly-through type. Can't say enough good things bout how well the recycled plastic and aluminum holds up in the weather and makes cleaning a breeze. This smaller size is perfect for sparrows, chickadees, wrens, nuthatches and I've even seen a few cardinals fighting to get their share of seed. Highly recommended. Looks great too and based on my other feeders I know I wont have to worry about fading or the elements taking their toll.

I love that it is so well built. We live on a farm, with high winds, and this birdhouse is built for tough weather. We have other Birds Choice feeders made of this same material and they have lasted for years with no fading. Easy to fill, can clearly see the birds as they eat. It's terrific! Love that it's made in the USA of recycled materials!

Placed on pole hangar four days ago with mix of sunflower, safflower, and Nyjer seed. Black-capped Chickadees, Goldfinches, and House Finches are regular visitors. Blue color is highly visible even from a distance. Generally stable on pole hangar, but had to shorten the cable to reduce swing even from Chickadees visits — the only reason for four stars. An adjustable cable or the ability to attach a base for top pole mounting would be a welcome improvement. Nice size and proportions overall makes it easy to handle. Seed capacity is fine.

Overall the feeder deserves a solid grade of "B". The functionality is fine. The use of plastic coated wire is an excellent choice and the ferrules and stops are of good quality. the design is basic, yet attractive, and the balance left-to-right and X vs. Y was amazingly level. Good job. So why a "B" ? The tray does not remove easily for cleaning. This is so important to keep our birds healthy, particularly in light of the various bird viruses in circulation the last 3 years.

This is a great feeder for as small yard or patio. We have a large yard and feed a lot of birds, so this feeder required frequent refilling. Fortunately, filling the feeder is easy, you slide the roof up and refil. The small profile of this feeder helps to prevent larger birds, such as crows, from accessing the seed. This feeder is made from recycled materials and should withstand the test of time.

Absolutely beautiful! As soon as I saw the blue fly-through feeder in the box my eyes lit up. What a beautiful feeder with vibrant blue color. The metal tray is smooth with no rough spots. The construction of this feeder is excellent! So far I have seen cardinals and house finches eating from the feeder. I used mixed bird seed and added a few raisins for the Gray Catbirds. They love raisins but haven’t been to the feeder yet. Overall I’m very satisfied with the blue Fly-Through Feeder and may order a couple more

This is a very well-designed and sturdy feeder. It's also very light, which made hanging it from my stand feeder very easy. I appreciate the clean open design, which allows the birds room to choose what they want to eat and also escape easily. The open design also gives an unobstructed view of the birds, which makes viewing them much easier. I took down my hopper feeder to make room for the fly-thru, and the fly-thru is definitely staying put.  I also appreciate that this feeder is made in the USA from recycled plastic bottles. All my feeders are black or green, so I wasn't sure about the blue color, but it looks much better in person, and it pops on my feeder. The color has already grown on me.  This is my first experience with a fly-thru feeder, so I was really surprised by how quickly the birds in my yard took to it. It only took 30 minutes for the birds to find it and start using it. It's a definite crowd pleaser. I'm sold on the design. Thank you!

Just getting acquainted with the feeder. I will need to move the feeder around my property to get good bird activity. I want to place it somewhat near a window to best capture the activity. Right now it's too close to my Large Hopper Feeder. So far I feel it's a very solid, attractive feeder. Easy and simple to maintain.
