Bought for bedroom window facing lake and east sunrise. I can see the lake and landscape but maybe should have done 1 or 3% instead of 5. Will switch to the 1% for the other three east/lakefront facing windows in great room. Need more UV in that room because it heats up fast.

I first discovered Blindster when I was looking for a shade for my bedroom. I'm happy that I decided to order from them. I was hesitant at first since their prices are so much lower than any other shades I found. I am so happy with my bedroom shade that I decided to order one for my living room. When the living room shade came it was dented. I called customer service and was asked to send pictures. I did and the shade was replaced. I didn't have to return the damaged shade.I was actually told to keep it and donate it or give it away. (it was actually so dented that it didn't work, but still good customer service) I ordered one shade in the 1% Flint, and the other in 3% Granite. Here's my only caveat, I ordered several samples (which come quickly, much more so than others I ordered from competitors) some colors are not at all what you'd expect. But more importantly is that some samples in the 1% were much more open than others. The same with the 3%. There was a lot of inconsistency between samples. So, I'd definitely order from Blindster but I would make sure you order samples and compare before ordering.

The blinds are great, the price was good and your customer service after I realized I measured wrong was top notch. My issue is with the brackets that come with the blinds. Yes, the left bracket can be mounted easily before the blind end is inserted into it. The right bracket needs to be attached to the blind, swung up, the blind needs to be leveled and then the bracket needs to be screwed on the wall. Only problem there, the blind roll does not give you room to drive the screws in. If your installing a 3' blind you may be able to mount and level the brackets but when your talking 139" like I ordered, it's not going to work. I welded a 4.5" piece of metal to all the brackets, drilled holes and that worked for me. I was able to get the blinds up, leveled and screwed into the wall with ease that way. Something to think about, extending the bracket attachment points.

I'm sorry you had problems with your installation. It is sometimes difficult to level a roller shade that is 139" wide. We usually recommend that you mark the place where the screws are placed into the bracket with a pencil (while you are leveling the shade. Then you can remove the shade from the bracket, install the bracket and then mount the shade. Thank you for presenting an alternative solution.

I give the shades 4 stars because our window measured out to be the smallest width they had. The window frame is right around the window so I was nervous about ordering them but it was a great deal and the window measurement matched. When the shades arrived it was an extremely tight fit to hang the shades, but we got them up. They look wonderful and keep out the sun but it is difficult to pull the shade up or down. We are careful and hope that it will wear in time to be able to adjust the shades easier.
