This is advertised as a dark out shade. It is NOT a dark out shade at all. We ordered white with the anticipation it would do as advertised. It is a great quality shade...no problem with fit or the way it looked, but it was a huge disappointment as far as the dark out.

I'm so sorry you weren't happy with your room darkening shades. Room darkening is a term that is used to mean that the fabric is at last 90% darkening. The color of the shade will also affect the amount of light that comes in. Blackout is the term that is used when the fabric blocks out 100% of the light. You can return the shade under our Satisfaction Guarantee. I will call you to discuss all the options so that we can get you a shade you are completely happy with.

Ordering and installation went well. Shade quality is very poor. The fabric edges started fraying immediately. We could have received same quality for a fraction of the price at a big box store.

I am sorry to see that you were disappointed in your shade. If the fabric edges are fraying it is because either: the roller shade is not level or the fabric is rolling off of the shade at an angle (telescoping on one end) or both. This is an easy fix and I will contact you directly to tell you how to fix it. If this does not work or the fabric is frayed too badly at this point we will remake the shades. I have ordered 5 roller Blinds from RD to Blackout and they are extremely very well made perfect to size as I placed. My husband installed them super easy. Customer service is extremely accommodating. I cannot wait to order the rest 10 more that I will need for the whole house.

I thought the width of the space to be covered would be the same as the width of the shade shade material. when I got a shade one inch short and called about it, I was told I didn't read the instruction list further in the site. I think your program should allow for the logical assumption that the width of the shade will correspond exactly to the width of the area o be covered. I have no interest in going through packing up the shade and taking it to the post office. Too much trouble. Lee
