LIFT Buoyancy Short (2023) XS Reviews

4.2 Rating 15 Reviews
I have a 34 inch waist and the large fit just right. They are on the lengthy side for a neoprene short but this is something that many people prefer including myself. The draw string is good quality with plenty of length and cinches down well. If you have wore these type of shorts before then you understand how well they help while training. If you are new to the shorts they really are like wearing a training float and they really help with keeping your hips lifted. Two thumbs Up !

Recommended by my swim coach, these shorts help keep me in a good swim position going downhill instead of up. They work at least as well as advertised (or better). As a new swimmer, these shorts improved my posture in the water which had been holding me back. These shorts made such a difference, they made swimming and practice fun again.

First pair of buoyancy shorts as a mediocre swimmer. Give me a better feel for body position and the extra help with rotation is nice. I’ve gotten 3 swims in already and easy on / off and definitely a comfortable fit. A little water coming through the back as I push off the wall, which may just be a slight drawstring adjustment on my part. That extra motivation getting me in the pool during winter!

I've previously owned Roka, Zone 3, and Blueseventy Core shorts, and the Lift is definitely the best of the lot. The neoprene waist band doesn't disintegrate like the cloth ones, and, unlike the Core, the high waist allows a tight seal while still leaving room for my boys. Well done.

I have been training with the previous version "Core" shorts for the last 3 years. They are part of my routine. This new version, is better. The two improvements I noticed were the waist band which works a lot better than the previous design. Also, the float is a bit better, (I believe) as on the day I switched to the new version, my times were dropped just a bit - which is perhaps psychological, but it felt like it fits better and floats me up a bit higher in the water than my old pair. Overall, an excellent product by my favorite swim gear company!

They look and fit great and are sleek enough that you don't feel odd wearing them in a pool. The best part is they really help you with body position on the swim. From a flotation perspective, I'd say they are somewhere between a regular swimsuit and using a pull buoy. This is the "sweet spot" as far as I am concerned. You get a little assistance with your form, while still having the opportunity to work your entire body, incorporating your kick and not just your arms, as would be the case with a pull buoy. With my improved position and overall stroke and kick workout, I am getting stronger and growing in confidence with my swimming--traditionally my weakest discipline in the triathlon.

I wore my Lift Shorts under a flotation shorty wetsuit and DMC ELITE II FINS with Aqua lung 3mm neoprene rubber soft sole booties. I was actually experiencing that day swimming on top of the water but not in the water. I was positively buoyant. All that apparel wasn’t necessary but I had a great day.
