After three pairs of buoyancy shorts and six wetsuits, I can definitely say that these shorts gives me the best buoyancy support at the best spot. The thick neoprene placed towards the center (with the thinner parts to the outside) lifts my hips and legs and supports the body rotation. Great product! They do fit very tight. I chose L, and even though I'm six feet and only 155 lbs, they fit perfectly. (But I don't want to gain 5 lbs...)

The shorts are super comfortable and are made of a high quality material. They are much more comfortable than a competitor’s buoyancy shorts. They really help me get the correct body position for efficient swimming!

Love the higher back on the lift shorts - great for the pool for those easy day/recovery swims and when you simply want to focus on technique.

The shorts are well constucted and well designed and size is right. Unfortunately the lining has a distinct chemical smell. I washed the shorts thoroughly with wet suit soap prior to wearing, but unfortunately I developed an allergic type rash on the exposed skin. Also I recently purchased a new Sprint suit to replace the one I have worn for about 5 years with no problem. However I also developed a skin rash after wearing it, despite having washed the suit twice prior to wearing it. I have previously had five other Blue Seventy suits and have not have this problem. Has there been a change in the manufacturing process? Have others had a similar problem? I would appreciate if anyone has a possible solution to this problem.

Hi! So sorry to hear you had a reaction after wearing the new shorts and wetsuit. I checked with our product developer and he confirmed that our Lift shorts and Sprint wetsuit liners have not changed in years. These linings are composed primarily from polyester with some lycra for stretch. We have not changed our manufacturing process and the Sprint wetsuit and Lift shorts actually come from two different factories, making it unlikely that something got onto the materials. We also have not heard from others about reactions to our gear.

I love the new design. The waist looks to be much improved and the shorts overall have more lift. Time will tell on the durability but so far, outstanding!
