I purchased these for swimming in the winter months in 48 degree F waters. They give warmth, dexterity, and the thinness is great for feeling the water.

The gloves are made very well and work great for temps about 60° for me, but I am such a shivering Chihuahua, after 32 minutes in 57° water my hands get cold. I had a design idea; is it possible to add the fuzzing to the palm area of the glove? Or if one swims in really cold water, make mittens? After all, when it's cold skiing, one may wear mittens vs gloves. When we swim, we don't need our fingers, only to adjust, just like skiing, you take it off and adjust.

Thanks Judy! We are glad you like the gloves and appreciate the feedback. Gloves are a challenge and folks either love or hate them. We opted for a thinner glove, with the metal cell lining which reflects your body heat to keep you warmer. The thinner glove allows the swimmer to maintain the feel for the water, versus feeling like you have a thick lump at the end of your arm. The glove versus mitten choice was also made for that feel as well, as a mitten style can act like a paddle and change how you swim. There is the tradeoff that our gloves are not the absolute warmest out there, but we feel they offer the best, natural swim experience while helping limit completely frozen fingers.

I am a baby about the cold, but need to start open water training earlier in the year, so based on recommendations I went with Blue70 gloves, booties, and thermal swim cap. All have been fantastic (with extra props to the booties due to the bottoms being rugged enough for walking around prior to getting in the water) down to Mid 50's water temp. At no point during 1-1.5 hours in the water did I feel like I needed to get out. Would highly recommend.

Just went in this morning with them, 53 degree water. My hands were warm, though my face was still cold. Pre-gloves in warmer water, I was getting tingly hands, today my hands felt good. I recommend these gloves to elongate the season a couple of weeks.

I purchased a small size, but once the gloves are wet they seem to get loose. Also would be great if they could be made with a thicker neoprene to keep my hands warmer (swim in lake, 52-56 degrees), understand that thicker means less "feel" for the water and may impact stroke, but it's a trade off I'd take for warmer hands, especially going into the swim - bike transition.

I think these gloves might work if my hand was bigger but I am a 5'1" woman and the smalls seem to flop around. I felt like I was swimming with paddles. I have some bigger friends who love these gloves but I have only used them once and probably won't use them again.

Sorry to hear that the gloves do not fit your hand! We do out best to make a size that fits as many hands as possible. One thing to try if you have not already, is to make sure they're on as snug as possible and that the wrists are tucked underneath your wetsuit. This helps them stay as secure as possible and can improve their feel if they are a bit large. All the best.

I bought these gloves for swimming in Puget Sound which in is the summer is around 50-52 degrees. They give my hands enough protection so I don't feel the cold and they are easy to put on and take off. I can put them on after my wet suit is on and tuck them under the wrist gasket with no problem. I recommend these gloves.

I fooled around with some cheapies off of Amazon, with just about every outdoor swimming product, which was a total waste of money. It is TOTALLY WORTH IT to buy Blueseventy products!!! These gloves kept my hands warm all winter in 42 degree water. They don’t take on water making it harder to swim, I got a size small (female, 5’10”, 160 lbs). It’s better to have the gloves nice and tight. The best ever!!! Don’t waste your time with anything else!! Also, Blueseventy has awesome customer support. Where do I write my FIVE STAR review of the Thermal Reaction Wetsuit that also enabled me to swim in Puget Sound all year long?!?!
