“These work fine for swimming in 45-47 degree water. Got a size small. They’re not incredibly warm but add just enough. If sized correctly they don’t sag.”
“It's a great glove but isn't thick enough for 5C. I opted for a 3mm Zone3 glove for these colder temperatures, but as the water warms, I will likely switch back to these blueseventy gloves as they feel very natural on my hand.”
“Fit was true to your size guide. Felt like my natural hands, except they were warm in water temps of 52 degrees. Haven't swam in water temps colder so far this year. Highly recommend! Also lend useful with road bike in cold and windy weather. Winners!”
“I am a petite female and the small is just a little big. Wish you had an extra small. The feel for the water is way better than I expected. The gloves are supple. And while they are warmer than no gloves at 51-55 degree water, my hands still get cold. But I do notice that my hands warm up faster, so I can tell they are helping. At 56 degree and up, I just don't need the gloves anway. On a separate subject - the booties and the neoprene cap are absolutely the bomb. Love those things.”
“These are very helpful when swimming in 53 degree water. My hands stay so much warmer. The fingers do feel a bit looser when they get wet but not horrible and it is worth it for the warmth.”
“BlueSeventy thermal swim gloves fit so well and feel so natural that I wear them all day! My fingers are free to fondle whatever fresh foods I feel like fondling, and the tiny amount of salt that collects from my morning ocean swims makes everything taste finger-lickin' good!”
“I Purchased a blue 70 thermal hood and booties to swim in water that is 60°. And they are great. I purchased the gloves which were called thermal as well and assumed it was the same technology but it is not. And it was like I wasn’t wearing anything. When I got out of the water I could barely move my hands. For protection against cold water they are useless.”
Hey Laurie - sorry to hear the gloves didn't work for you. The design focuses on keeping the feel for the water and avoiding the heavy feeling that can come with thick gloves, so there was a trade off between how warm they could be. Some folks love them, others don't. Please contact us if you'd like to exchange or return!
“I bought these gloves for cold open water swimming in the Northeast. The gloves fit fine on my small hands when dry but after a few minutes of swimming, the gloves become very floppy and loose. I have to continuously stop to try to push them up into my cuffs of my wetsuit. They do keep my hands warm but frankly I’d rather swim without them as it is such an annoyance that they don’t stay on my hands. Not much I can do as I bought them new off of someone on Poshmark. Unfortunately, I will be buying another brand of gloves.”
Sorry to hear our gloves don't work for you, we do our best to offer sizes to fit most hands. Hope you're able to find a solution to keep warm and comfortable in the water!
